About

Inside Israel, and within Jewish communities around the world, there are individuals criticising the oppression of Palestinians, and organizations working in different fields to resist the different ways this oppression takes place. These actions vary from human right watches to medical aid, educational endeavours to direct action. Such voices are seldom heard, marginalised as ravings, and their criticism and actions rarely reported by mainstream media.

We want to offer a space for the exchange of such ideas and activities. We are not here to say Israel, and Israelis, are not ‘like that’. Israel is, and Israelis are overwhelmingly, ‘like that’ (albeit often due to indoctrination, manipulation and fear-mongering, used by the state aparatus). We are here to take responsibility-not to clear our conscience, not to whitewash the name of Israel or Israelis, not to legitimize apartheid, siege, separation walls, land grabs and house demolitions, by showing our remorse. But we do have a real need for support, a place to share and learn together different ways we can oppose the injustices around us.

We are here to offer, to whoever wants to hear it, critical voices from inside Israel and around it. We are here to communicate to whoever out there and wanting to oppose Israeli and American expansionist policies: “we are your partners”. We are here to make clear we are ashamed of what is supposedly being done in our name and for our security, and we will not be silent.

We do not restrict ourselves to any single agenda or course of action. We agree that Palestinians have been suffering from injustice, humiliation, deprivation, brutality and worse, brought upon them by the state of Israel, supported, either openly or covertly, either in material or inaction, by most of the western world, and in very different ways by many of the Arab states. This space aims to offer an answer to two needs- a central space to get acquainted with organizations, from their activities (using video, pics, and activist accounts) to their faces (with interviews and posts by activists), and a space for activists to express themselves- their experiences, feelings, thoughts.

24, active in New-Profile (feminist anti-militarist organization). I work with youth, using theatre to tackle political questions, from how all kinds of chauvinism and militarism dehumanize us to their role in the social-political reality in the area. I refused to join the military, and have tried to manage a broad understanding of oppressing powers and ways to face them since.
